You can find anything quickly, easily and effectively on the internet. More and more, it is how people search for goods and services they wish to spend money on. Websites sell more goods and services than any advertising - because the customer can search and browse for exactly what they want, whenever they want, however they want.
Your customers aren't restricted to a printed out menu, an advert listing one tenth of the things on offer, a 15 second radio blurb or anything else. They can see everything you offer/sell/provide quickly and easily. If they like what they see, it takes them less than 30 seconds to send a friend a link to your website. How's that for referral advertising? Immediate. This is "word of mouth" advertising and has been around for centuries. And its priceless.
Additionally, you can provide as much info as you want on your website. You could start a series of articles explaining your industry or particular aspects of your services. Perhaps outline some common misperceptions. Offer advice and assistance for free, or some "things to look out for" - customers really like freebies, especially when it helps them make better decisions. And guess what? Part of that 'better decision' is often to go with a service provider that was open, honest and communicative.

Any time a user searches for a location and a service/product, the most read results nearly always come from the Google Places search engine and not the "natural" Google results.
This change means that it is now possible for your business to be found more easily when people search on your business location.
As always, we're here to help. Our opinion is that these changes cannot afford to be ignored and should be acted upon immediately. The good news is that you don't actually have to have a "website designer" do something about it - its not too difficult to do it yourself! From here, you could:
